Ai is all around us. Sometimes we are aware of it, sometimes not. In Discovery Museum you now visit the informative and interactive exhibition "Ai: the expo". This expo paints as complete a picture as possible of Ai as a technology: its applications, opportunities and challenges. Equipped with the right information, you will then be better prepared for social discussions about Ai and for the choice to what extent you yourself want to use Ai systems.

The exhibition "Meet Bèr - Mosasaurus Experience" shows the story of the geological epoch Maastrichtian, also known as the Cretaceous. In that era, between 70 and 66 million years ago, a shallow, subtropical Cretaceous sea inundated Maastricht and South Limburg. In it lived giant Maas lizards, also called mosasaurs, among other things. The Natuurhistorisch Museum Maastricht displays the remains of several locally found bones of these giants. The most famous one is Bèr. He is the namesake of the new exhibition "Meet Bèr - Mosasaur Experience. His 3D printed skeleton is the centerpiece of the exhibition.

A large Wiesn with five pavilions varying in character and a large fairground: Oktoberfest Sittard rightfully belongs in the list of largest October festivals in the Benelux. The combination of old traditions and the social character ensures a party for young and old with a wide choice for everyone.

From EuroParcs Resort Limburg it is a forty-minute drive to Christmas Town Valkenburg, South Limburg’s Christmas destination from 13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027. Two underground Christmas markets, in the Gemeentegrot and the Fluweelengrot caves, form the heart of the town; above ground, WinterGlow on the Walramplein is free to enter.

Come on a Saturday or Wednesday evening for the Christmas Parade through the town centre: Saturdays at 7.30 pm (14, 21 and 28 November, 12 and 19 December) and Wednesdays at 7 pm (9, 16, 23 and 30 December).Good to know: the caves are open from 13 November to 30 December, weekdays from 11 am to 7 pm and weekends from 10 am to 7 pm. Book your timed tickets online, as weekends often sell out. Weekdays are quieter.

It is a forty-minute drive from EuroParcs Resort Limburg to the Vrijthof, where Magical Maastricht takes place from Friday 27 November to Sunday 27 December 2026. Entry is free: stroll between the beautifully lit chalets of the Christmas market with a hot chocolate or mulled wine in hand. The showstoppers are the 1,000-square-metre covered ice rink and the 45-metre Ferris wheel with enclosed glass gondolas and views across the city. Little ones love the carousel, and the Grand Café and the Almhütte are the places to warm up again.
 

Practical: open Sunday to Thursday from 10 am to midnight and Friday and Saturday until 1 am; the Christmas market closes daily at 10 pm. On 24 December the square is open until 6 pm, on 25 December from 11 am to 6 pm. Dogs on a lead are welcome, and weekdays are quieter than weekends. After skating, dining and shopping in Maastricht, you are back in the peace of the park within fifteen minutes.

Carnival 2026 will take place from Sunday, Feb. 15, through Tuesday, Feb. 17. Although these days are the official carnival days, in many places the festivities begin earlier, such as Thursday, Feb. 12 or Friday, Feb. 13, and some last beyond Tuesday.
